Intermittent Fasting

I have been experimenting with intermittent fasting over the last four weeks of my program. Intermittent Fasting is a eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting & eating. 
There are lots of different ways to do this but for me I like the 16/8 method: Also called the Leangains protocol, it involves skipping breakfast & restricting your daily eating period to 8 hours, such as 12-8p.m. Then you fast for 16 hours in between. I don’t do this everyday, instead listen to my body & see how it is feeling, if I am hungry some mornings & need the energy I will eat, but on other days I will try this method. 
When you fast, several things happen in your body on the cellular and molecular level.For example, your body adjusts hormone levels to make stored body fat more accessible.Your cells also initiate important repair processes and change the expression of genes. There are a multitude of benefits with intermittent fasting but the main ones are : 

  1. Human growth hormones grow
  2. Insulin sensitivity improves & levels of insulin drops
  3. Cellular repair 
  4. Gene expression & protection against disease 

There is a lot of information on this but I would advise to do your own research as everyone is different & has different needs for their body. This is just what works for me 🌿💚
